We have a licensed horse riding school at Treworgey. We offer riding lessons, and some supervised hacking through the beautiful countryside around Treworgey, and across 100 acres of our own rolling farmland down to the Looe river below us. This is rich in fauna and flora, where you can enjoy fantastic views – just for our few guests! Riding is available under the supervision of Miranda Ben-David every weekday morning until lunchtime. The overall management of the yard is Linda's, who has the qualification of BHSII, and was a successful event rider in her youth. Lessons are usually taken by Miranda in the 60m x 20m outdoor area which has an all weather surface .

Beginners are warmly welcomed, as are the more experienced who want training in dressage and showjumping.

Most riding stables cater for inexperienced or beginner riders on very quiet horse and ponies. For experienced riders this can seem like being asked to drive a Morris Minor when they are used to a Mercedes! Some of our horses and ponies compete in dressage, affiliated showjumping, and horse trial competitions nationally. In fact daughter Holly was selected to compete in the British Pony Trials Team at the European Championships in Germany and in Spain two years running. In addition she notched up numerous individual places in the horse trials and show jumping competitions at the National Pony Club Championships on different horses. Since graduating from Durham University in Autumn 2008, Holly has taken a break from competition.

We continue to offer high quality riding on well schooled horses, with good confidence building lessons that are fun to beginners and the experienced - and lovely hacking for experienced riders only.(an assessment of a rider's ability has to be made in the riding school first for safety reasons). We do offer pony rides and led hacking only for beginners and intermediate riders.

Please note that in peak school holiday times, hacking is very limited due to huge demand in the riding school. We put our horses first and don't over work them.

At peak school holiday times, due to popular demand, we continue to offer our fun group two hour pony club stable management and quiz sessions.

Disclaimer ; Although we have provided riding for years here at Treworgey without interuption, Horses can be ill or lame just like people. Groups are very small and teaching is one to one. If you or your children are pony or horse lovers, you will find it difficult to leave Treworgey. Guests are very welcome to bring their own ponies/ horse on a DIY livery basis. Lessons are available on your own horse or you can use our arena (free by arrangement) and there is great woodland hacking.
